Festival of Hearts Gala 2023 & Dessert Dash
The Fry Healthcare Foundation is returning to an in-person Dinner Gala for the Festival of Hearts; we are eager to talk to our community about changes we have recently made and new developments in the works.
The top health factor facing our local community is cardiovascular disease and heart attack. To help address this, Boundary Community Hospital has recently expanded our Med/Surg floor to accommodate more patients, brought on new medical providers, and expanded our Cardiopulmonary department’s capabilities. We now offer complete echocardiograms in Boundary County and have the same diagnostic imaging capabilities as Kootenai Health. However, we need to replace our current defibrillators for our Emergency Department; the manufacturer recently announced that our current defibrillators would no longer be supported for servicing. Replacing them will cost approximately $38,000. We have raised half of the needed funds at our past events. Our goal is to raise enough at the Festival of Hearts to purchase them and purchase new patient monitors for our expanded Med/Surg floor if we go above our goal.
We hope that you will consider sponsoring and or attending the Festival of Hearts Gala and be able to join us for a cocktail hour and prime rib/chicken dinner on February 11th, 2023, at 5:30 pm at the Kootenai River Inn.
We are so grateful for the loyalty and commitment to the betterment of our community.
Cocktail Hour 5:30 pm

The pandemic has highlighted the importance of rural hospitals like ours; there were several points during the pandemic that transfers were made extremely difficult due to lack of available rooms at other facilities and staffing issues. Boundary Community Hospital has strived to increase the level of care that we are able to provide to ensure that our community is receiving excellent care despite transfer difficulties. Expanding our service lines and abilities comes with more vast equipment needs. Recently the Fry Healthcare Foundation raised enough funds to provide Boundary Community Hospital with two crash carts, a state-of-the-art surgical table, and added the Procedural Care Clinic, through the support of our sponsors and generous donors. We could not have accomplished all of this without the help of our community. Thank you.
