Free Annual Sports Physicals Clinic

Typically the End of every July

5 pm to 7 pm

The free Sports Physical Clinic will be held in the Outpatient Clinic at Boundary Community Hospital on Tuesday, July 27, starting at 5 pm. The students and their parents or guardian should report to the cafeteria entrance of the hospital on Comanche Street; there will be signs posted. A Parent Must Be Present. Parking is available in the Outpatient Services lot off Comanche Street.

For parent’s convenience, families will be screened together. Please sign-in at the Coaches Table outside. Proceed through the screening stations, then on to the medical practitioner for the physical exam. Families must be signed in before 6:30 pm in order to complete the process.

Screenings include height, weight, vital signs, and an evaluation of neuromusculoskeletal function, including range of motion, strength, balance and functional mobility, urine test, vision and a physical exam, and a review of the screening results by a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner.  The completed forms are reviewed for completeness and then submitted to the Boundary County School District coaches for inclusion in school records.

So if you have students in grades 7, 9, or 11 who plan to participate in sports, including robotics, in the upcoming school year, then you will want to take advantage of this free event. According to the Idaho High School Activities Association, these students will need to have a physical before the first practice starts. This also applies to those new to the sports program who did not have a physical last year, even if in grades 8, 10, and 12.
